A heartwarming photo of two cuddling pups has taken the internet by storm. The adorable pair, Agatha and Jukebox, are residing at the Pima Animal Care Center in Tucson, Arizona. Interestingly, the duo arrived at the shelter from different backgrounds; Agatha was given up by its owners, while Jukebox was a stray. But as fate would have it, the two developed an instant bond upon meeting each other and are now inseparable. According to Kristen Hassen-Auerbach, the director of animal services, it is common for bonded pairs of dogs in shelters to have spent their entire lives together. However, there was an exception with these two dogs as they did not know each other prior to meeting in a playgroup. As soon as they laid eyes on each other, they became inseparable. The pair has found solace in each other’s company, which has helped alleviate any anxiety and depression that may come with shelter life. Due to their strong bond, the two dogs are seeking to be adopted into a home where they can continue to live together.
The staff at the shelter are optimistic that the online exposure will aid in finding a permanent home for Agatha and Jukebox as a pair. In the meantime, the two dogs are doing their part in captivating prospective adopters who happen to wander near their enclosure. Hassen-Auerbach expressed her wish for them to be adopted by someone who will cherish them as much as they do. The dogs have become a source of entertainment for the staff on days when they feel disheartened, as watching Agatha and Jukebox playing together uplifts their spirits.
