When he was only a few days old, Sage and his siblings were left behind and abandoned. It was a difficult situation as he was left helpless and without his sight. His mom abandoned him and his siblings when they were only two days old. Luckily, he was rescued and taken to a foster home. Unfortunately, he was the only one who survived the ordeal.

Upon receiving a call from her friend who had taken care of the abandoned kitten, Nora, his foster parent, readily agreed to take him in. The tiny feline was merely four days old when he came into her care. However, as she spent more time with him, Nora became aware that something was amiss with the vulnerable little creature.

Sage was dealing with not just a regular upper respiratory infection but also had an ulcer in his right eye.
