Twinkle, the lovable pooch, had to go back to the rescue center after spending four months with her adoptive family. The reason? She wanted to snuggle up on the bed with her new parents. Poor Twinkle was discovered wandering the streets of Miami alone in June and was taken to Mission rescue center, where she received top-notch care and affection. Despite her emaciated state and decaying teeth, she was showered with TLC.
Lisa Letson, the founder and president of True and Faithful Pet Rescue Mission, revealed that the lovable canine underwent surgery and had to remain at the veterinarian’s clinic for a few weeks to recuperate. While recovering, the pooch gained some weight and transformed into a cute little dog. Luckily, the furry friend was adopted by a wonderful family in early September. Lisa mentioned that the family was lovely and seemed like an excellent match for the dog.
The rescue center got an email during the festive period from Twinkle’s new owners stating that they wanted to give her up after just four months. They claimed that Twinkle was making a lot of noise throughout the night because she wanted to sleep on their bed. The family already had some adult Chihuahuas, but they wouldn’t share the bed with them. Due to this, they felt that Twinkle wasn’t suitable for them and decided to return her to the rescue center.
Madison Mulvihill, who is responsible for managing True and Faithful Pet Rescue’s social media, stated that Twinkle was in a state of shock and disorientation. Upon entering the main dog room, she noticed that Twinkle was sitting alone in a corner on a dog bed, visibly trembling with fear. Her face was perplexed, and her heart was filled with sadness. When her owners brought her back, they simply tossed her over the fence and left. Twinkle kept looking back at the fence, and it’s baffling why someone would abandon a dog like that.
Twinkle yearned for a warm and comforting evening with her dear ones, but alas, it was not meant to be. This left her heartbroken, and the rescue team shared the same sentiment. They had grown attached to her since she came into their care, and the idea of someone abandoning such a precious being was incomprehensible to them.
According to Mulvihill, Twinkle is not only cute but also has a captivating personality even though she only weighs three and a half pounds. She loves receiving attention and will approach you if she wants your affection. Watching her take delicate hops on the grassy ranch is a pleasant sight, and she enjoys cuddling. Twinkle is also amicable with other dogs and walks comfortably on a leash. Whenever she desires a scratch, she’ll paw at your hand to let you know.
When Twinkle returned to the shelter, her friends created a TikTok video about her story, hoping to find her a kindred spirit. The video unexpectedly went viral and captured the hearts of people all over the internet. Thanks to the overwhelming response, Twinkle is finally going to her forever home, where she will share a king-size bed with six other dogs. Mulvihill, who has been taking care of Twinkle, believes that she will finally experience true love and happiness with her new family. Twinkle just wants to be loved and accepted, and now she has finally found a place where she can be herself.
