Allow me to introduce Jamie, a charming Burmese feline who was put up for adoption after his owner had to move to an assisted living facility and couldn’t bring him along. Upon his arrival at RSPCA Australia, Jamie had developed cat flu, suffered from dental issues, and was going through kidney troubles. However, the staff took good care of the kitty and provided him with the necessary medical attention.
The employees at the shelter had concerns that nobody would be interested in adopting an elderly cat like Jamie. However, a woman named Sarah Dempsey came forward and expressed her desire to find a feline companion. According to Dempsey, when she first encountered Jamie, he was slumbering, but soon awoke as she approached him. The cat appeared to crave some attention, and Dempsey felt an immediate connection with him. She sensed that Jamie would alleviate her loneliness, just as she would do for him.
After bringing Jamie home, Dempsey noticed that he became fixated on her. He sticks to her like glue, often engaging in conversations with her during the night and trailing her around her apartment. What’s even more endearing is that he won’t even sleep unless he’s holding onto his new mom’s hand. In fact, when she tries to let go, Jamie wakes up, meows and uses his paws to draw her hand back towards him. It’s clear that their bond has already formed.
Introducing Jamie, an adopted feline who refuses to drift off to dreamland unless his new human parent clasps his paw. Due to his previous owner relocating to a retirement home, this 13-year-old Burmese kitty found himself in a shelter.
A lady in her youth took him in. “He sticks with me all the time… He’s very loving.” The most delightful thing about it is that they slumber while clasping their hands. “If I release [his paw], he wakes up, meows, and clutches onto my hand… I believe we’ve formed a strong connection already.”
