Initially, this adorable feline residing in Seattle, Washington, had a streak of bad luck. The Persian’s previous owner was careless and inattentive. However, the cat’s fortunes took a turn for the better when the rescue service arrived at the doorstep.
After only spending two days at the shelter, the cat was quickly adopted by a loving family. The new owner, who previously wasn’t fond of felines, instantly fell in love with the sweet Brimley. Despite his initial affection for the pet, the man had to spend some time nursing Brimley back to health as he arrived at the shelter in a poor condition. Mucus had covered the cat’s eyes, and the veterinarians suspected that they wouldn’t be able to save one of them. Nevertheless, the cat is now enjoying his new home, and his new owner is pleased to have him as a part of the family.
The feline went through a treatment that consisted of receiving eye drops and ointment, as well as taking medicines and painkillers using a syringe. Surprisingly, his eyes recovered without requiring any surgical intervention! Nowadays, Brimley enjoys his life to the fullest, although the only downside is when his owner has to leave for work.
It’s important to keep in mind that taking care of Persian cats requires a bit of extra effort. They require regular grooming from a young age, and it’s crucial to keep their noses clean and wipe away any tears throughout the day. Additionally, Persians are more susceptible to certain genetic diseases, with polycystic kidney disease being the most common. If you notice any potential health issues, it’s essential to take your furry friend to the vet as soon as possible. Despite the extra attention and care needed, the love you receive in return from your Persian cat makes it all worth it. Let Brimley’s story serve as a reminder to care for and cherish all our furry friends.
