A little kitten that couldn’t see was discovered wandering the roads and began embracing every feline it encountered. After five months, his dream came true.

A kind-hearted individual stumbled upon a ginger kitten wandering the streets all alone. They brought him to the veterinarian where they observed that he had microphthalmia, which caused his eyes to be smaller than normal. This condition left him almost completely blind as one eye had no sight at all, and the other could only perceive light and shadows. Upon arrival, he was frightened and required a lot of reassurance. The vet reached out to Best Friends Felines, a local rescue group, hoping to find him a caring foster home. A volunteer picked him up the following day, and they soon discovered how much he loved being around other cats.

Upon discovery as a blind stray, Amigo was brought into foster care at bestfriendsfelines. In his new temporary home, Amigo found companionship with a cat named Smokey and some other kittens with special needs. Despite his limited vision, Amigo adapted well to his surroundings and even managed to make friends with the other cats. Although he remained timid and easily startled, he enjoyed cuddling up next to Smokey. According to Nikki, the rescue’s president, Amigo settled beautifully into his foster home.

As soon as he arrived, he was drawn to the company of other cats and enjoyed snuggling up to them. Although he sometimes bumped into objects while exploring his surroundings, he remained unfazed as long as he had a feline friend nearby. In fact, he handles everyday life quite well and runs, plays, and eats normally. He’s also great at using his litter box!

According to @bestfriendsfelines, the tabby boy showcased his impressive skills by effortlessly jumping and climbing onto various surfaces such as the couch, bed, and cat tree. However, due to his lack of sight, he descended by climbing down backwards instead of taking a leap like most cats would. Currently, he is cozily taking a snooze on the cat tree.

Amigo is just like any other cat when it comes to playing and climbing, as seen on the Best Friends Felines website. Although he may get jumpy around sudden movements or noises, he loves to cuddle up with his feline friends and purr contentedly. According to Nikki, Amigo has become more confident as he has grown older.

Amigo had found a great companion in Cara, a kitty who was born with incomplete eyelid margins. They enjoyed spending time together at Best Friends Felines. However, Amigo was still waiting for the right family to adopt him after five long months. It’s not easy to find a home for a special needs cat, and it becomes even harder when the cat is timid. Adopting a cat like Amigo requires patience and dedication from loving pet parents who are willing to take a chance on a furry friend they might not be able to touch during the initial meet-and-greet.

Amigo was in foster care for approximately five months before finding his forever home with Kelly and Louie, who were previous adopters from Best Friends Felines. They recently stumbled upon Amigo and immediately knew that he would be the perfect companion for their 8-month-old cat, Basil. Similar to Amigo, Basil was also rescued from the streets and given a chance at a better life through the rescue organization. Despite his rough start, Basil is full of confidence and energy, and loves snuggling and kneading with his paws.

According to Basil from Best Friends Felines, after a lengthy discussion, it was apparent that Kelly and Louie were committed to being patient with Amigo. As a result, Amigo left his temporary home and went to live with his new family and his new furry sibling, Basil. With the presence of Basil, Amigo quickly became comfortable and found himself snuggling up to his brother despite not respecting personal space when it comes to other feline companions.

Basil and Amigo hit it off right away and formed a strong bond. According to bestfriendsfelines, Amigo has settled in nicely with his new family and they couldn’t be happier with him. It seems that Basil and Amigo have become inseparable and have formed a lifelong friendship already.
