Watching animal rescue videos and looking at heartwarming photos always leaves us feeling emotional and inspired by the kind strangers who give shelter and love to animals. But the truth is, not many of us are willing to take on such a noble task. This story takes place in the Philippines, where a father noticed that his 9-year-old son Ken Amante would disappear from their home every day with a backpack full of food. Concerned, the father decided to follow him and discovered that Ken was sneaking off to care for abandoned animals. While he was proud of his son’s kind heart and capabilities, he also realized the difficult situation his son was in.

One day, Ken’s father decided to secretly follow his son to find out what he did every day. To his astonishment, he found that Ken had a kind and noble mission. Ken spent his time feeding stray dogs in the area, showing great compassion and care towards these helpless creatures. Despite their difficult situations, Ken chose to help them in any way he could, and his father was left in awe of his son’s selflessness.

As Ken strolled through the vicinity, he couldn’t help but notice a group of scrawny and feeble stray dogs gravitating towards him. These four-legged beings, who had once harbored an inherent distrust for humans, had developed a profound sense of reliance on Ken. He reminisced on how, during his first encounter with them, he had to maintain a distance of 50 meters as the hounds were wary of approaching the food in his proximity. However, now they appeared at ease in his company.

The dogs that roam around seem to have no owners and could potentially be carriers of harmful viruses and bacteria. To stay safe, Ken and his dad made sure they got vaccinated and took extra care when interacting with these stray dogs. In fact, Ken’s father even went the extra mile by leasing a piece of land to help out.

During their time spent with the homeless dogs, they grew familiar with three of them who visited regularly. The dogs were given names such as “Brownie”, “Blackie”, and “White”. It appeared that Blackie was the mother of the other two and was visibly ill, yet still, remained committed to her pups. To help the dogs, the group created a shelter and even founded a volunteer team to provide them with necessary aid.

Ken was driven by a deep passion to care for animals that are often disregarded by society. Together with his father, they established a volunteer group that aimed to provide assistance to homeless animals within their vicinity. Dubbed as the “Happy Animals Club,” this initiative was formally introduced on March 31, 2014. The group has garnered immense backing from the locals and has gained significant momentum, resulting in its achievement of great accomplishments.

A group of individuals who adore animals had a fantastic plan to establish a sanctuary that could offer constant assistance to distressed animals. Ken’s father spearheaded the idea by leasing an area in the nearby location, which was open to all kinds of animals in need. He took measures to make sure that the space was safe and secure from all angles to avoid any harm to the animals. Ken was overjoyed as he held a contented “White” in his embrace.

“Blackie” appears to be in excellent condition and happy after receiving adequate attention.
