Meet Razor, a brave Dachshund who recently saved the day by rescuing a stranded St. Bernard named Jazzy. Jazzy had wandered away from her owner’s New Mexico home and found herself stuck in a cold, muddy ditch for approximately 18 hours. Luckily, Razor was there to lend a paw and help his furry friend out of the sticky situation.
On Monday morning, Razor attempted to signal Chavez that something was amiss as he was getting prepared for work. However, Chavez was oblivious to the message that Razor was attempting to convey. Despite this, Razor remained steadfast in his quest to get someone’s attention, even barking at the neighbor. It wasn’t until a concerned passerby noticed Razor’s frantic barking and pursued him that Jazzy was ultimately discovered.
According to Chavez, Razor sprinted across the field and trotted beside the irrigation ditch until he reached the site where Jazzy was stranded. The location turned out to be where Jazzy had been stuck, sinking at least two feet deep into the mud. The group immediately contacted Belen Fire Rescue for assistance, and eight of their members arrived at the scene to rescue the massive dog. With the aid of backboard straps and a long spine board, they were able to extract Jazzy from the ditch and return her to safety.
