While Nicole Rienzie was on her way home with her mother, she came across a small black kitten with unusual “vampire fangs” in the middle of the street. The kitten darted in front of their car and they stopped to rescue him. Upon closer inspection, Nicole found the kitten covered in dirt, bugs, and severely malnourished. His infected eyes were shut, but despite his condition, Nicole was immediately smitten with the little creature.
The tiny feline was in a weak state, and both of its eyes were severely infected to the point where it struggled to see, as it roamed down the road. The group of people who stumbled upon it came to a conclusion that taking the kitten home was the most favorable option they had.
In no time, the feline had a satisfying meal in his stomach and a much-needed bath. With an abundance of love and care, he was nursed back to optimal health. It didn’t take long for this fortunate cat to showcase his playful and energetic side. He was constantly running around, prompting them to give him the name Monkey, which suited him perfectly. Nicole explained that he quickly earned this nickname due to his goofy and hyper antics.
The veterinarian confirmed to Nicole that Monk’s long fangs were not abnormal, although it is rare in some cats. To showcase Monk’s impressive vampire teeth, Nicole decided to create an Instagram page, which quickly gained popularity with over 24,000 followers. After a year of having Monk, they rescued another black cat whom they named “Bean.”
The two of them formed a strong friendship! Monk may have a feisty personality, but he is also very sweet to his humans and his best friend Bean, and absolutely loves taking baths. What a special kitty! The bond between humans and animals, especially kittens, can be incredibly unique. It’s not uncommon for people to develop strong emotional connections with their pets, particularly when they are rescued or have unique characteristics.
