The tale of the captain and his loyal feline companion has captured the attention of many on the web. This Russian tourist ship has been home to a charming cat who has been sailing alongside the crew for quite some time now. The Persian cat has garnered quite the following, but he’s not the sole furry member on board.
Since 2008, Sailor, the feline crew member, has been working alongside the esteemed royal captain of the Nikolay Chernyshevsky cruise ship, Vladimir Kotin.
He not only acts as a reliable crew member by protecting the captain’s bridge every night between midnight and 4:00 am, but he also attracts tourists.
No one knows for sure how much money the adorable cat made for the cruise company, but it’s safe to say that he earned his keep by wearing a uniform and even having a subordinate. The average cost of a cruise ticket is around 30,000 rubles ($450).
During their visit to the ship, Ruptly from RT stumbled upon another feline companion. The captain revealed that he had brought in a second cat, also male, to keep Sailor entertained. Fortunately, the two cats have formed a bond and enjoy each other’s company despite the younger one being lazier than Sailor.
