“It feels disrespectful to be happy with Kody,” Robyn began.

The interviewer replied: “They want you to be happy with Kody, they all sat here and said ‘We want Robyn and Kody to be happy, they have a special relationship.’ Christine, Meri, and Janelle has shared that with me.”

Robyn shook her head: “They haven’t shared that with me off-camera.”

The interviewer then asked if she needed their blessing to be happy, to which Robyn replied yes.

“I need it off-camera to my face. It feels like it’s disrespectful to his kids, it feels disrespectful to the commitments that I made.

“My commitment to them, to their kids, to Kody about this family is not broken and I don’t know how to break it. I don’t know how to be done with it. I don’t care if people think I’m stupid.”

The interviewer then said: “I don’t think you’re stupid, I think you’re asking to have a conversation with your sister wives and in order for you to be truly happy with Kody, you need them to release you.”

CHRISTINE’S EXIT

After 25 years of a spiritual marriage, Christine was the first to leave the polygamist family.

In November 2021, the TV personality shared a statement via Instagram.

“After more than 25 years together, Kody and I have grown apart and I have made the difficult decision to leave.

“We will continue to be a strong presence in each other’s lives as we parent our beautiful children and support our wonderful family.

“At this time, we ask for your grace and kindness as we navigate through this stage within our family. With love, Christine Brown.”

Shortly after Christine’s statement, Kody shared one of his own: “Christine’s decision to leave comes with a great deal of sadness.

“We enjoyed many years together and I have a large amount of respect and admiration for her.

“Although we are moving forward on different paths, we will always remain committed parents.”

Christine has since found new love as she married her new husband, David Woolley, 59.

JANELLE’S EXIT

More than a year after Christine’s departure, Janelle left the marriage.

During the Sister Wives: One on One special last year, Kody revealed the news.

“I’m separated from Janelle and I’m divorced from Christine,” he said.

The star continued: “Janelle has made it pretty clear to me that she’s enjoying her life without me. She’s like, ‘Haven’t missed you much.’ I think if we both really sat down, we’d look at each other and say ‘Really?”

Janelle then revealed at the time: “We’ve been separated for several months.

“I don’t know, things just really became sort of indifferent, like I just didn’t care anymore.

I’ve kind of mourned that that part of our life is gone. I wasn’t heartbroken. It wasn’t heartbreaking for me like it was for Christine. It was just kind of like, I just mourned that that life was gone…. We had this great run.”In a sneak peek, Robyn revealed what she needed from her sister wives in order to be happy with Kody

MERI’S EXIT

Weeks later, Meri decided to leave Kody.

During a Sister Wives special, the star revealed that she was exiting the relationship after 32 years.

On January 10, 2023, Meri shared an official joint statement with Kody about their divorce saying: “After more than a decade of working on our relationship in our own unique ways, we have made the decision to permanently terminate our marriage relationship.”

The statement continued: “During this process, we are committed to kindness and respect toward each other and to all members of our family, and we are also committed to the continued healing of any and all relationships within the family so that we can move forward with forgiveness, grace, and love.”
