That’s when I spotted a group of puppies coming out from behind a fallen log.” And gradually, 16 little pups started showing up from their hiding spot.

The rescuer, who had ample experience in saving dogs, was surprised at the overwhelming number of canines she stumbled upon. She was used to seeing them scattered across Oklahoma, but the sight of so many at once left her at a loss for words. Upon closer inspection, Mitzi discovered that the puppies belonged to three distinct litters and that Dolly, the courageous mother, was tending to pups that weren’t even hers. Brogdon sought out help to find shelter for their family of 17 people, and with the assistance they received, they were placed in four different shelters.
