A cat with unique brown fur and her four cute kittens found their way to a foster family.

Last month, Laura Malone, who is a director at Mini Cat Town in San Jose, California was asked to save a family of five cats. The family was made up of four adorable kittens and their mother. They were taken to the city shelter but since they were well-fed and the mother cat was friendly, Laura assumed that someone had been taking care of them. However, their paw pads were dry which indicated that they may have spent some time outside. Laura and her team didn’t hesitate to take the family in and noted how stunning the brown fur of the kittens was.

Mars, who is a loving feline parent, has recently welcomed four charming kittens that are covered in brown fur. Laura Malone, the owner of these little ones, has noticed that half of the litter has pure brown coats, while the other half display white paws and markings on their faces and chests. Additionally, the kittens’ noses and paw pads are colored in a rosy-brown hue, which may not turn black as their mother’s did. This peculiarity gives them a distinctive appearance that sets them apart from others of their kind.

Encountering a feline with a chocolate or cinnamon brown fur is an uncommon occurrence. These cats come into existence due to a genetic anomaly in the black color gene. Regrettably, these rare animals are not easily found in animal shelters or rescue centers. A prime example of this unique cat breed is Mars. Mars boasts a striking long-haired black coat and initially displayed some apprehension upon arriving at her new abode. However, she soon came into her own once she realized that her kittens were in a safe haven.

Laura Malone shared that her initial interaction with Mars and Twix revealed that the mother cat was growling at any sound while maintaining eye contact. However, upon closer observation, Laura discovered that Mars was merely expressing her fear and protectiveness over her kittens. In fact, Mars was seeking love and affection from humans.

Eventually, Momma Mars grew at ease with her new foster family and welcomed their help in caring for her four lively pups: Hershey, Reese’s (or Reese), Twix, and Baby Ruth. She even started to knead and purr while standing up to lovingly greet her human companions. This heartwarming scene left her foster family in awe as she appeared to be gleefully dancing around.

According to Laura Malone’s report, Momma Mars is taking excellent care of the kittens and they are flourishing. The kittens are becoming increasingly playful every day and are growing stronger with all the love and attention they are receiving. While each kitten has its own distinct features, Hershey stands out with a round head, Baby Ruth has almond-shaped eyes and a petite frame, Twix has a distinguishing white chin while Reese has a white mark near her nose and is the most outgoing of the bunch, usually being the first to investigate new things.

Not only is Mars affectionate, but also possesses an enchanting personality that easily endears him to everyone. Laura made Mars feel at home by greeting him with a warm “hello Mama” every time she opened the door, allowing him to become familiar with her voice and strengthening their bond.

Laura Malone recounts her delightful encounter with Mars and her adorable litter of kittens. As soon as she enters the room, Mars eagerly emerges from her carrier and excitedly approaches Laura. Throughout her stay, Mars sticks close to Laura, often rubbing against her legs while she feeds the kittens. While Laura observes that Mars clearly adores her little ones, she secretly wishes that they could stay tiny forever, as they are showing more and more signs of growing up.

According to Laura Malone, the fostered young cats are thriving and their beautiful, rich brown coats are still looking great. As they approach adolescence, these feline friends are growing stronger and more energetic each day, keeping Laura on her toes with their playful antics.
