Despite being left on a doorstep as a newborn, a feisty kitten overcame the odds and made an incredible comeback. Now, she enjoys a comfortable existence surrounded by a group of loving cat companions who keep her entertained throughout the day.
In Queens, NY, a stray cat gave birth to two kittens on a stoop. Unfortunately, the mother cat left one of her babies behind when rain started to pour down. The kitten was left alone until concerned people found her and waited for the mother to return. Sadly, she never did. Luckily, Little Wanderers NYC came to help, and their volunteers acted immediately. The abandoned kitten was in poor condition – cold, wet, and underdeveloped. There was doubt that she would survive. Despite this, the kitten fought hard and with proper care and patience, surprised everyone involved in her rescue.
Little Wanderers NYC is a non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing and caring for animals that have been abandoned. Ashley, a foster volunteer for the organization, recently took in a tiny neonate that weighed only 71 grams or 2.5 ounces. Due to the neonate’s delicate condition, Ashley had to warm her up before feeding her. Although there were doubts about the neonate’s survival rate initially, she managed to overcome the odds and is thriving well under Ashley’s care.
Ashley from Little Wanderers NYC put in a lot of effort to save a precious kitten. She worked tirelessly, providing hourly feedings and supportive care, sacrificing her sleep just to ensure the survival of the tiny creature. Despite a visit to the ER due to the kitten’s underdeveloped digestive tract, Ashley’s determination and dedication paid off, and the palm-sized wonder made a full recovery with a renewed appetite.
Little Wanderers NYC recently shared a touching story of a kitten named Chihiro who was fortunately rescued and given a new lease on life. Despite her difficult beginnings, the team at Little Wanderers NYC noticed Chihiro’s determination to live. As time went by, she grew bigger and stronger, eventually reaching full size by the end of her second week. Chihiro would hungrily devour her meals and then snuggle up in her comfortable bed for a long nap until her next feeding. This tiny feline demonstrated immense resilience, leaving us all hoping for her continued progress.
Upon awakening, Chihiro immediately became curious about her surroundings. She noticed her foster mother holding a bottle and eagerly anticipated being fed. Over time, she developed an interest in playing, which brought joy to her foster mom.
Chihiro received some adorable furry toys from Ashley at Little Wanderers NYC, which she thoroughly enjoyed playing and biting with. The experience transformed her into an incredibly cute and cuddly little furball! Following her playtime, the playful tabby was moved to a bigger playpen where she could enhance her walking and jumping abilities while demonstrating her strength.
When Ashley brought home a new kitten to Little Wanderers NYC, her other two cats, Laserboy and Biscuit, were more than happy to lend a paw. Laserboy, the tuxedo cat, took it upon himself to be the kitten’s guardian, teaching her how to play and giving her baths while she remained in her playpen. Even Biscuit, the tabby who usually doesn’t welcome strangers, recognized the kitten’s need for love and attention, and has been showering her with snuggles ever since.
Little Wanderers NYC’s team had a goal to search for Chihiro’s mother and siblings and ensure they have a secure and affectionate shelter. They worked hard and ultimately got the whole family off the streets and into a foster home. Following their rescue, Chihiro has turned into a playful and cunning child who likes to run around and play with the resident cats. Her development is admirable and awe-inspiring.
Little Wanderers NYC houses two adorable felines, Chihiro and Biscuit, who are known for their playful nature. Among the two, Chihiro stands out for her courage and liveliness. She loves to engage in games and is incredibly quick on her feet. However, once she tires herself out, she transforms into a warm and cuddly companion for her fellow cats and humans alike. According to Ashley, an employee at Little Wanderers, Chihiro’s energy levels have only increased as she has grown older. Despite her small size, Chihiro fearlessly pounces and stalks her toys and larger playmates. Nevertheless, she is also affectionate and gentle, making it impossible not to adore her.
Every day, I am amazed by Little Wanderers NYC as I witness my small preemie kitten grow into a mature cat. She was only 2.5 ounces and barely the size of a toy mouse, but she has come a long way since then. It wasn’t simple for me to care for her during those restless nights. However, it was all worthwhile to see her flourishing and becoming an affectionate feline.
