Three years ago, Sir Thomas “Tommy” Trueheart made headlines for his work in combating animal abuse. The kitty was living as a stray in the deserts of California, surviving on occasional kindness from strangers. Unfortunately, things took a turn for the worse when Tommy arrived one day with serious injuries from an acid attack. His eyes and a significant portion of his skull were damaged by the toxic substance, leaving him in dire need of help. Fortunately, compassionate individuals stepped up to care for the injured feline. Despite being taken to a vet, Tommy’s condition did not improve. His initial doctor lacked empathy and suggested euthanasia due to the severity of his injuries and his status as IⴸF+.
Fortunately, the people in charge of taking care of him made it known to Milo’s Sanctuary that something was amiss. Tommy was then immediately transferred to a team of qualified veterinarians, giving him the highest chance of survival after undergoing unimaginable abuse.
Tommy had to take painkillers and antibiotics for over three months while receiving treatment in critical care. To repair the damage caused by acid, he underwent surgery and skin transplants.
Her weakened immune system due to being IⴸF+ posed an additional challenge during her recovery as it needed constant monitoring.
Regrettably, he was now missing an eye. However, this young child had no intention of returning to the streets, even though his injuries would result in permanent scars.
Tommy was under the care of Milo Sanctuary and Lifetime Care in his new home after being adopted. During his long recovery, he befriended a cat named Daisy, who became his constant companion. Tommy’s story has served as an inspiration and a way to raise funds to help other animals suffering from the dangers and cruelty of the streets. Despite his capacity for love and forgiveness, dealing with IⴸF has been challenging for this resilient kitten. Michele, his adoptive mother, was vigilant about anything that could harm him due to his weakened immune system. Remember to share this incredible video with your loved ones!
